Creating workplaces and communities where women, men, and young people feel safe, respected, and empowered remains critical to Liberia’s development.

Sexual harassment and other forms of gender-based discrimination can negatively affect employee wellbeing, productivity, confidence, institutional trust, and opportunities for professional advancement.

Organizations must therefore move beyond simply having policies. Employees and communities need to understand what constitutes sexual harassment, how inappropriate behavior can be reported, where survivors can seek support, and how complaints are handled confidentially and responsibly.

BridgePath International recognizes that sustainable change requires continuous education, strong institutional systems, leadership commitment, community awareness, and trusted reporting mechanisms.

Gender inclusion must also extend to decision-making. Women and other underrepresented groups should have meaningful opportunities to participate in leadership, employment, education, and community development.

By strengthening policies, building awareness, training employees, and creating safer reporting environments, Liberian institutions can help build workplaces where dignity and equality are protected.

A safer workplace is not only a gender objective—it is essential to stronger institutions and sustainable development.
